It’s better to know a limit before you plan around it than to find it halfway through a piece of work. This page is the one place for BumbleB Crunch™’s limits: the things it doesn’t do, and the numbers it currently sets — how big an upload can be, how many rows a chart keeps, how long a code lasts. The numbers are where BumbleB Crunch is today. We change them as BumbleB Crunch grows, and this page changes with them. Each one says what to do instead, and links to the page that covers it.
What BumbleB Crunch doesn’t do
Some of these are choices we made on purpose, like not changing your data. Others are simply where BumbleB Crunch is today.
- It doesn’t change your data. BumbleB Crunch only reads. To fix a wrong value for your own analysis, correct it in a sheet: the correction is kept beside your data, not written into it.
- It doesn’t go and fetch data for you, such as market prices. It answers only from what you connect or upload, so for newer figures, download a fresh export and upload it — see Market data.
- It doesn’t give investment advice. It says what the data shows, not what to buy or sell. See What BumbleB Crunch is.
- It answers in text, tables and charts. It doesn’t generate, edit or analyse images or video of people. To take a chart elsewhere, use Copy or Download — see Charts, tables and artifacts.
- You can’t add data to a conversation once it has read its datasets. The pick is fixed so answers don’t shift under you. Pick the datasets you need and start a new conversation — see Datasets.
- The Report agent doesn’t query your data again. Every figure comes from an earlier answer in the conversation. For a fresh count, ask the question, then ask for the report — see Report agent.
- No ad-platform connectors yet. Export your spend and upload the file — see Bring in your ad spend.
- No history from before you connect your site. Website and Shopify events start once your domain is verified — see Verify your domain. For earlier orders, upload your store’s export — see Shopify pixel.
- A
.myshopify.comaddress can’t be verified. If your store has no domain of its own, contact us. - Your data lake means Postgres or an Iceberg REST catalog, and a linked table can’t be your clickstream or have snapshots. You can’t pin a linked table to a dashboard or correct its values in a sheet: save a table from it and pin that, and correct values in your lake — see Read your own data lake.
- The on-prem sync connector syncs MongoDB today. See Sync a database from behind your firewall.
- A sheet can’t be listed publicly — only stories and dashboards can. Public listing itself is turned on per organization: write to support@bumbleb.co.
- Readers can’t ask about a shared sheet in a conversation, or save their own pivots — see Open your datasets as a sheet.
- Someone with only a link can’t ask about a story or download its PDF. Send them the PDF.
- Sharing outside your organization needs an owner or admin to allow it first.
- People without a BumbleB Crunch account aren’t emailed when you share. Send them the link once they join.
- A person currently belongs to one organization at a time — see Invite teammates.
- We don’t currently host data in India. Don’t bring personal data that a law requires you to keep in India — see Where your data lives.
Current limits
Asking questions
- Time limit: Auto time limit currently gives a question 5 minutes before BumbleB Crunch pauses and asks whether to keep going. 15 min limit, 30 min limit and No time limit give it longer — see Ask BumbleB Crunch about your data.
- Analyses at once: your plan allows a set number of analyses running at the same time. If BumbleB Crunch says too many are running, wait for one to finish or stop it — see Keep an analysis running.
- Levels: a level your plan doesn’t include runs at the highest one it does — see Choosing a level and pricing.
- Usage: when your included usage and your credits are both used up, new questions are turned down until you add credits or upgrade. You’re warned at 90% — see Credits.
Uploads
- Size: up to 100 MB and 300 columns per file, one sheet per upload, in
.csv,.tsv,.xlsx,.xlsor.parquet. Split a big file or drop columns you don’t need, and upload each sheet of a workbook on its own — see Upload a file. - Dates: a date like 03/04 stays text, so it isn’t read the wrong way round. Write dates as
YYYY-MM-DDbefore you upload.
SQL console and Data home
- One read-only
SELECTper query (aWITHis allowed), joining up to 8 picked datasets — see SQL console. - Results come 100 rows a page, and paging stops at row 10,000. Count or sum by group instead of listing every row.
Sheets
- Corrections: up to 200 per table.
- One view: up to 3 row groups, one column split showing up to 24 of its values, 60 columns and 20 filters. A formula is at most 500 characters.
- A typed table: up to 1,000 rows and 30 columns. For more, upload a file.
- Calcs: a calc opens a view of up to 10,000 rows; a sheet keeps up to 5 calcs; a calc lists at most 20 hand figures for BumbleB Crunch.
- Exports from the grid: up to 10,000 rows at once. Filter the view or save it as a table first.
- A link anyone can open shows each table’s first 1,000 rows, up to 10 tables.
- A linked table of more than 10,000,000 rows isn’t published with its sheet.
See Open your datasets as a sheet.
Stories and dashboards
- Refreshes: up to 40 a day on a story, dashboard or sheet, scheduled ones included. On a dashboard, a date-range recount counts as one too.
- Schedules run daily or weekly, at an hour in UTC, and only on a story or dashboard set to Live. Pick the UTC hour that matches your morning. After three failed runs in a row, a schedule turns itself off and tells you — see Keep it up to date.
- Charts: a chart keeps at most 5,000 rows. Its source line says when rows were left out; group the data to fit.
- Links: a link can be opened 60 times a minute; past that, readers are asked to try again in a minute.
- Dashboard filters: up to 12 filter values are offered.
- Building on a story: BumbleB Crunch reads up to 3 named pieces in one message.
Connectors
- On-prem enrollment token: valid for 24 hours, and shown once — see Sync a database from behind your firewall.
- On-prem sync: every hour by default.
Your account and plan
- Seats: Team plans currently have 2 to 10 seats; for more than 10, the Business plan — see Request a demo and pricing.
- Before your business details are approved, an account is limited to 3 seats. Save your business details early if your team will be bigger.
- You can’t drop below the number of people in your organization. Remove people first — see Subscriptions. A downgrade isn’t refunded, except as our Terms of Service provide.
- Sign-in link: the emailed sign-in link is valid for 24 hours.
- Invitations: valid for 14 days. Sending one again refreshes it.
- Confirmation codes (closing an account): valid for 10 minutes.
