Your needs change: a new hire joins, a project winds down, or you outgrow the plan you started on. Subscriptions is where you change your plan or seats, or cancel. The main thing to understand is timing — some changes happen straight away and some wait for the end of your billing cycle (the period each payment covers) — and this page walks you through both.
What you’ll need
Access to Subscriptions: owners, and admins with Manage Subscriptions. See Roles.
Change your plan or seats
- Open Subscriptions and click Change Plan / Seats.
- Choose the plan and, for Team, the number of seats — a seat is one person on the plan.
- Choose when it happens: Apply Now or At End of Billing Cycle.
- Click Preview Changes and read the summary, so you know exactly what will change and what you’ll be charged.
- Click Confirm Change — or Continue to Payment, if there’s something to pay.
When each change takes effect
| Change | When | Charge |
|---|---|---|
| Upgrade, applied now | immediately | the difference for the days left in the cycle |
| Downgrade or fewer seats | end of the billing cycle | none, no refund |
| Moving to Free | end of the billing cycle | paid access continues until then |
How to tell it worked
A scheduled change shows as a banner on Subscriptions. Changed your mind? Click Cancel Change on that banner.
Moving from Team to Starter
Moving a team down to Starter takes one step first: your organization has to fit the new plan’s seats. If it has more people than the new plan has seats, the change is turned down with “Remove users first”. Remove your teammates on Users (see Invite teammates), then make the change.
When the move takes effect, the Team features end with the plan:
- the Pro edition of the analyst — you get Starter (see Starter and Pro)
- background turns, so closing the tab stops an analysis again
- Data home
- your own data lake connections
- on-prem sync
Which plan includes what is on pricing.
Cancel your subscription
- Click Cancel Subscription.
- A paid subscription stays active until the end of the billing period. If you’d rather end it immediately, choose End Now.
To come back later, click Resubscribe.
Tip: If you only want to stop paying, move to the Free plan instead of cancelling. It keeps your account and your data.
Good to know
- You can’t drop below the number of people in your organization. If you want fewer seats than you have people, remove people first — see Invite teammates.
- Downgrades aren’t refunded. A downgrade or a cut in seats takes effect at the end of the billing cycle, with no refund for the rest of it.
