You’ve signed up and your data is in — an uploaded file, your website or your store. Now you want to see what BumbleB Crunch™ does with it. The best first question is a small one you already roughly know the answer to, such as last quarter’s revenue. If BumbleB Crunch gets that right, and shows you how it counted, you know you can trust it with the questions you don’t know the answer to.
What you’ll need
- An account. The Free plan is enough — see Sign up and start on the free plan.
- Some data. Upload a file, connect your site, or try a toy dataset if you have none handy.
Step by step
- Start a new conversation, and check the dataset picker in the message box shows the data you want to ask about. See Datasets if it doesn’t.
- Leave the level on Auto. The gauge in the message box picks the level each question needs. See Choosing a level.
- Ask one thing, in your business words — “revenue”, “orders”, “Q4” — not column names. For example: How much revenue did we make in Q4 2025, and from how many orders?
- Read the result first, then the line that says how it was counted. Check it counted what you meant — the right dates, the right kind of order.
- Ask the next small question that builds on it: Which region brought in the most of it?
How to tell it worked
The answer gives you the figure you asked for, with how it was counted underneath, and a chart or table you can open. If the figure matches what you expected, you’re ready for harder questions.
An example
A store has uploaded its orders export.
| You ask | BumbleB Crunch finds |
|---|---|
| How much revenue did we make in Q4 2025, and from how many orders? | $1,200,000 from 8,800 orders, counted from October through December 2025. |
| Which region brought in the most of it? | The West, at $456,000 — with a chart of every region’s Q4 revenue. |
Two short questions, and the store knows its quarter’s total and where most of it came from. Each answer says the dates it counted, so the figure is easy to check against the store’s own books.
Good to know
- Tip: One question per turn. A single question gets a single answer you can check before you build on it.
- Tip: If BumbleB Crunch read a word differently from you, say so in one line — “by orders I mean paid orders only” — and it keeps that for the rest of the conversation.
- A file you upload after a conversation starts isn’t part of it. Ask in a new conversation.
