Some questions are really several questions. “Why did revenue drop, and which channels should we cut?” needs a handful of figures, each counted a particular way. The Plan agent lays out that work before any figure is computed, so you can see what will be answered, how, and from what data — and change it — before anything runs.
What you’ll need
- The Plan agent, if your plan includes it.
- The datasets your question is about, picked in the conversation — see Datasets.
Start it
- Click the agent pill in the message box. It shows Analyst ▾.
- Choose Plan. The choice sticks for the conversation.
- Ask your question as you normally would.
What you get
A plan in the side panel, with one row per question to answer. Each row has:
You’ll get · Counted as · From · Can’t · Done when · Result.
While planning, Crunch only checks what the data holds — which columns there are, how fresh they are, and how filled in they are. It states no figures. That’s on purpose: the plan is for agreeing the work, not for answering yet.
A single lookup gets answered as a lookup, not planned.
Change it
Edit the plan in the panel and click Save revision. Your revision is what runs with your next message.
Run it
- Switch the pill back to Analyst.
- Say go.
- Crunch runs each row and writes its status and result back into the plan, as a new revision: solved, partly, not in this data, or doubted.
How to tell it worked
Each row in the plan shows its status and result: solved, partly, not in this data, or doubted.
Good to know
- A big plan that reaches its time limit pauses. Say “keep going” to carry on.
