Data home is where everything Crunch has read or made for you lives in one place. A dataset here means any table Crunch can read — your clickstream (the events your website or store sends), a file you uploaded, a table you linked, or a result a chat turn made. Lineage is the trail from your sources to a given dataset. Come here when a chart in a conversation surprises you and you want to see exactly where its numbers came from, or when you want to run your own query and keep it.
What you’ll need
- A Team plan (see pricing).
Open it
Click Data (the database icon) in the left navigation. You can also get here from an answer: click ⛁ beside any figure, or Explore data on a chart.
Find your way around
- Analyses — the datasets each chat turn made, grouped by turn. Open in chat takes you back to the conversation.
- Datasets, Sources (your clickstream, uploads and linked tables) and Queries.
- Filter any list by name. Lists show 50 at a time.
Look at a dataset
Open a dataset to see:
- its rows, with Export CSV to take them away;
- its columns;
- Made by — the SQL that made it;
- Lineage — a graph from your sources to this dataset. Click a node to walk to it.
Run SQL
- Type what you want in words, such as “sessions by device last week”, and click Draft — or
write the SQL yourself. In your SQL,
{{this}}is the dataset you are on. - Click Check before you Run.
- Results come 100 rows a page.
Tip: Add an ORDER BY to your query, so the pages stay stable as you move through them.
Queries you ran
Every query you run is kept, so you can come back to it. Star one to keep it at the top, give it a title, see each time it ran, and Rerun it.
Heads up: If a source a saved query read is gone, the query says so, rather than quietly reading something else.
