To ask why sales moved, Crunch needs to see what shoppers do in your store, not just what they buy. The BumbleB pixel sends your storefront’s standard events — page and product views, add to cart, checkout started and checkout completed — to your workspace. A pixel is a small piece of code Shopify runs for you on every page. You add it in your Shopify admin, with no theme edit, no app and no developer.
The pixel asks Shopify for no customer identity, so it sends what shoppers did, not who they are.
What you’ll need
- Access to the Connectors page in the hub — see Roles.
- Access to your Shopify admin.
- Your store’s own domain (like
yourstore.com) and access to its DNS settings, to prove the store is yours. A.myshopify.comaddress can’t carry the record this needs, so if you have no custom domain, contact us.
Step 1: Create the connector
- In the hub, open Connectors and click + Create connector.
- Set Source to Shopify.
- Give it a Connector Name. The Stream ID fills itself in.
- Enter your store’s own domain as the Website Domain.
- Click Create and copy the API key.
Heads up: the key is shown once. Paste it somewhere safe straight away. If you lose it, open the connector card and click + Generate New API Key under API Keys for a new one.
Step 2: Verify your domain
Follow Verifying your domain. Events are only accepted once it verifies, so it’s worth doing before you add the pixel.
Step 3: Add the pixel in Shopify
- In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Customer events.
- Click Add custom pixel and name it
BumbleB. - Paste the code from the connector card, replacing
YOUR_API_KEY_HEREwith your key. - Click Save, then Connect.
How to tell it worked
Check progress on the connector card’s Pipeline Status, which names any error by stage, with what to do.
Good to know
- Events start on the day you connect the pixel. There is no history before that. For earlier orders, upload your orders export — see Uploading files.
- Trends need time. Questions about trends need a few weeks of collection first, so the sooner the pixel is in, the sooner you can ask them.
